Is my server ready for Enshrouded 1.0?
Yes. Enshrouded 1.0 launches October 15, 2026, and every HostSimple Enshrouded server checks Steam for the newest build each time it starts. When Keen Games ships the release (or any patch after it) and Steam updates your game, click Restart on your server page and the server comes back on the same build in about a minute. Your world stays exactly as it is.
How do my friends join?
In Enshrouded, click Play → Join and either search for your server's name or paste its address into Join via IP. Then they enter the password. We set two for you: a friend password that lets your group build, loot and extend the base, and an admin password that also allows kicking and banning. Both are on your server page and in the control panel's Startup tab.
Can PlayStation 5 players join?
Not yet. Enshrouded 1.0 launches on PS5 the same day as PC, but Keen Games has said crossplay between PC and console is planned for a later patch, and PS5 players currently can't connect to PC dedicated servers. A HostSimple Enshrouded server is for Steam players. If Keen adds console access to dedicated servers, nothing changes on your end.
How many players can join?
Up to 16, which is the game's own cap for a dedicated server. The plan comes with 8 GB of RAM: an idle Enshrouded server uses around 4.5 GB and each player adds roughly 100 MB, so a full group of 16 fits with room for big builds.
Can I change the difficulty?
Yes. The Startup tab on your control panel has a Difficulty Preset setting: Relaxed, Default, Hard or Survival. Change it and restart. If you want to tune individual settings (enemy damage, day length, drop rates and so on), upload your own enshrouded_server.custom.json through the file manager and the server uses that instead.
Can I bring my existing world?
Yes. Enshrouded saves are a small set of files in the savegame folder. Upload yours through the file manager, restart, and your base and progress are on the server. Character data travels with each player.
Do I need to port forward?
No. Your server has a public address, and Enshrouded uses a single UDP port, which is the number shown in that address. There's no router configuration and nothing to leave running on your PC.
How fast is setup?
The server is created right after checkout. The first boot downloads about 9 GB of server files from Steam and generates the world, so it's usually joinable in 10 to 15 minutes. Your address and passwords are on your dashboard and in your welcome email.
